TVXQ's popularity in Korea and Japan did not change and is still on top by 2008 sent in full. Their 4th album MIROTIC in domestic alone sold over 500,000 copies and did a record that put shame to the music industry recession and, topping the Oricon single chart in Japan showed strong position. Also seen performing in the NHK Kohaku, it further proves their success in Japan.

In the new year TVXQ is also scheduled to have events in Japan. Said leader Uknow Yunho, "During the New Year holidays I plan to eat rice-cakes together with my members"

"We will be releasing on the 21st our new single followed by activities in Japan, we we're welcoming the new year there. Along with eating rice-cakes with the other members, I also plan to call and send e-mail to my friends and family at home on new year's day."
